About Wafer Swing Check Valve
 
Available sizes from 50mm through 600mm. Wafer Swing Check Valve is a non-return valve which prevents back flow, and is mounted to a pipeline between two flanges.
 
Swing Check Valve a commonly used check valve which has a disc internally which swings on a hinge and securing pin hence the name Swing Check Valve, and depending on the greater flow direction it will either open pushing the disc upwards or close by the disc falling down. Reverse flow or back flow occurs when the pump has shut down or pump failure occurs and the material being pumped flows backwards due to gravitational force. A Swing Check valve will protect the pump and drive system from reversing, preventing water hammer from the fluid you are pumping.
 
A swing check valve is a heavy duty check valve. The swing check valve can come in a range of materials such as Ductile Iron (DI) Cast Iron (CI) Cast Steel (WCB) Stainless Steel (CF8, CF8M) and more. The seat material which absorbs the slamming effect of the disc closing and also seals the fluid, can vary also from a resilient seat material like EPDM, to hard chrome. The hard chrome seat is best for abrasive materials, as it is much more hard wearing.
